Mother's Day Gift Ideas! Thoughtful Gift Guide
Mother's Day is approaching - it's this Sunday! And as I was putting my mom's package together, I thought this would be a great post for my blog. Here are some of my ideas that I think are perfect for moms! I personally like to combine smaller items and create a little care package. I think if you know your mom well, these gift ideas are thoughtful and and you can really focus on what your mom would like!
1. Crafty Things
I have a mom-in-law who loves to scrapbook! She actually has a room in her house that is dedicated to crafts and art projects. I think anyone who loves scrapbooking in particular might really like new & cute items to add to their pages. Or even getting a new scrapbook for future pages.
Here's a few items I think are adorable!

Another popular crafty item are planners.. this might be a little late in the year but I think it's a great gift idea if not for Mother's Day, possibly around the Christmas holiday season. The Erin Condren Life Planner, it's perfect if your mom loves to plan and if she likes getting crafty. There are also sticker kits and various tutorials online I think are addicting to watch just because they're chill and I like watching people plan their week - is that weird? Haha! A favorite of mine is Allison Anderson's planner channel, Firefly Paper Shop. She makes sticker kits and shows off how she likes to plan her week!
2. Cute Coffee & Tea Mugs
How cute is this?! Finding some adorable mom coffee mugs online is so fun! And you could really scroll for hours but I like finding them online because it's all right at your fingertips. I've tried shopping for some gift coffee mugs at various stores but I think I'm too picky and don't usually find just the right mug for the person I'm shopping for. Browse if your mom enjoys collecting mugs! I think they're fun and she'll definitely put it to good use =)
3. A Mix CD
I know, I'm totally kicking it old school bringing up a 'mix CD' LOL - but this is so thoughtful!! Create a playlist on your computer and burn it onto a CD. You can even decorate the CD case and personalize it for your mom. I've been doing this for years with my mom as one of her gifts in her care package and she always seems to really like it. I'll put newer songs from the past year I know she likes as well as old favorites. I'll also add funny, silly songs and some she might have not heard before but I think she'd like.
It's a great way to bring back some great memories and she can play it whenever!
4. A Good Book or Books
For this month's book on my book club, Fantastic Books & Where To Find Them, I picked Cheryl Strayed's Brave Enough and I think this would make a great gift! It's filled with touching quotes and it's nice for a quick, pick-me-up kind of read. Also, browse the new bestsellers and see if there are any books you think your mom would like. One that's gotten popular recently and is a new release is Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. Hawkins also wrote The Girl On The Train so if your mom was a fan of that, she might really like this new thriller!
I've also given books I've read and passed on - I think this is even more special because if you really like and think your mom would too, it's a better recommendation if you've already red it (of course!)
5. Tablet
This is a bigger gift but something I've gotten my mom in the past too! She uses her tablet for reading and this is perfect because my mom is legally blind. She can see a little, everything is just very blurry but she uses her tablet and makes the font very large. Another thing she loves doing if her eyes get tired or she's having trouble reading is to just listen to an audio book. This is something I think has gotten popular more lately because of audible.com and who doesn't love listening to a good audio book when you're driving in the car or doing house work?
6. Spices
This is perfect if your mom loves cooking. The Penzey Spices are ridiculous and super tasty. My personal favorite to use on everything is the Sandwich Sprinkle - it has a celery salt kind of taste to it which tastes amazing with buttered crackers! Browse their selection - they have everything!
7. The Perfect Card
A few more ideas I think are great are journals, kitchen things (again, if your mom loves cooking!), also jewelry and makeup or skin care items. My mom really likes mascara and it's fun sending over a loot of them for her to try out!
Hope you guys found this post helpful and let me know what Mother's Day gifts YOU think would be great to give.
XOXO
