SARAH

Blogger

Sarah Ragsdale is the content creator behind the Sarah Rocksdale YouTube channel and blog where she has gained a following speaking on a wide range of topics that include beauty, fashion, fitness, and lifestyle. Her channel is diverse in that she also covers deeper subjects including self-help, religion, atheism, and current events. Sarah started creating content in 2011 with a heavy emphasis on beauty, and found that she resonated with audiences, winning the Rimmel London Look contest and becoming a NYX Cosmetics Face Awards finalist two years in a row. After realizing she was in a unique position to speak to an audience that might not otherwise be exposed to some difficult subjects, she chose to expand her content to cover issues she is more passionate about, including some controversial topics, with the goal of sparking conversations and spreading awareness.

Born and raised in Missouri, Sarah was indoctrinated into the Pentecostal Christian religion. At 18, she attended Master's School of Ministry, now called Sagu Valor, a Christian college in Griffin, GA. There, she was subjected to an abusive “Jesus Boot Camp” where she was physically and emotionally traumatized. In an attempt to escape, Sarah turned to self-harm, a subject that she has since addressed in her videos. After leaving the college, she returned to Springfield, MO and over the next several years, started questioning her faith.

Sarah is also a victim of childhood sexual abuse. She now speaks about how her religious upbringing made it worse for her. She is an advocate for victims and has helped many of her viewers by speaking out about her own experiences.

Now residing in California, Sarah is married and has become an atheist activist. She openly shares about her lack of belief and when she realized she was an atheist. She talks about her Jesus Boot Camp experience as well as being indoctrinated and molested as a child. She knows first hand the damage that bad ideas can inflict on someones life and is passionate about sharing the positive effects of walking away from religion.
